D r. Helgerman grew up in western Pennsylvania where he developed a love for the outdoors and a strong desire to help others. Initially he planned to work in the mental health field by completing his degree in Theology, Philosophy, and Religions with a Psychology minor. However, in the final months of completing his degree he sustained a shoulder injury that severely limited his ability to continue the physical activities that sustained his wellbeing. Through this injury Dr. Helgerman learned first hand how debilitating chronic pain can be to one’s quality of life and happiness. After discovering how effective chiropractic was in his own process of recovery, Dr. Helgerman decided to become a chiropractor to offer the same gift of healing to others and completed his chiropractic education at Life University in Atlanta, GA.

D r. Dan’s Training & Specialties

The chiropractors who helped Dr. Dan recover from his shoulder injury utilized more traditional styles of chiropractic.  Dr. Dan reveres the benefits of these techniques when masterfully applied.  However, for his own healing journey, 6 months after entering chiropractic school, Dr. Dan received his first Upper Cervical adjustment.  After receiving one barely noticeable Atlas Orthogonal upper cervical adjustment, Dr. Dan felt his posture shift from head to toe.  Surprisingly, he also noticed more space and clarity in his mind than he had ever felt before!  Dr. Dan was mesmerized by how such a light contact to the neck could produce such profound global results.  This was the missing link in his evolution forward.  The power and magic of this one adjustment caused him to specialize in Upper Cervical care from that moment forward!

Dr. Helgerman has extensive training and experience applying many upper cervical techniques, including:

  1. QSM3 (Quantum Spinal Mechanics 3)
  2. NUCCA
  3. Atlas Orthogonal
  4. Grostic Method
  5. Toggle Recoil Technique

Dr. Dan never stops learning and innovating.  He has combined all he learned in these techniques to create a hands-on approach all his own. If someone prefers more strict adherence to any one of the aforementioned approaches (except Atlas Orthogonal) accommodations can easily be made.

O ther chiropractic techniques that have strongly influenced Dr. Helgerman’s Approach include:

  • Bio-Geometric Integration (BGI) – the sacred geometry of Dr. Sue Brown
  • Sacro-Occipital Technique (SOT) – through the lens of professor Dr. Hochman
  • Activator Methods – gentle instrument assisted adjustments.
  • C.C.E.P. style extremity adjusting protocol
